NMI Ahyi Seamount YELLOW/ADVISORY - Unrest continues. Satellite views cloudy.Mar 13, 2025 23:40 - Unrest at Ahyi Seamount continues. A few hydroacoustic detections from the direction of Ahyi Seamount were received by a hydroacoustic array at Wake Island over the past week. Cloudy conditions obscured views of the area in satellite data—a plume of discolored water was last observed on March 3, 2025. Similar, faint plumes on the ocean's surface above Ahyi Seamount have been observed in satellite imagery sporadically since August 5, 2024.There are no local monitoring stations near Ahyi seamount, which limits our ability to detect and characterize volcanic unrest there. ... HVO Kilauea ORANGE/WATCH - Kīlauea summit eruption paused on March 11. A new eruptive episode is likely to begin within the next 5-7 days in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park.Mar 13, 2025 20:08 - Activity Summary: The Kīlauea summit eruption remains paused on March 11. Lava flows unrelated to episode 13 continue to spread out on the eastern side of the crater. Kīlauea's current eruption in Halemaʻumaʻu crater within Kaluapele (the summit caldera) began on December 23, 2024. There have been 13 episodes of lava fountaining separated by pauses in activity. All eruptive activity ... AVO Great Sitkin ORANGE/WATCH - Slow eruption of lava continues at Great Sitkin Volcano.Mar 13, 2025 17:56 - Lava continues to erupt slowly in the summit crater of Great Sitkin Volcano. Small earthquakes continue at a low rate. Satellite and webcam views were obscured by clouds over the past day.The current eruption of Great Sitkin Volcano began with a single explosive event in May 2021. The ongoing eruption of lava at the summit began shortly afterward, in July 2021. The volcano is monitored using local seismic and infrasound sensors, satellite data and web cameras, and regional infrasound and lightning networks. AVO Spurr YELLOW/ADVISORY - Shallow earthquake activity continues beneath Mount Spurr; gas emissions elevated.Mar 13, 2025 17:56 - Unrest continues at Mount Spurr volcano. Seismicity remains elevated with numerous small, shallow volcanic earthquakes detected beneath the volcano over the past day. Satellite and webcam views were obscured by clouds. Overflights on March 7 and March 11 found significantly elevated volcanic gas emissions from the volcano. See the Information Statement released on March 12 for more details.AVO continues monitoring activity at Mount Spurr for signals indicating that the volcano is moving closer to an eruption. Based on previous eruptions, changes from current activity in ...
